Kristjan Gislason of Witchmayne is a drummer out of St. Andrews, Manitoba. At the age of 11, Kristjan began setting up pots & pans playing along with anything he could get his hands on. Once his parents got tired of replacing pots & pans, he got his first drum set at the age of 12. Starting out as a jazz drummer at Lockport Junior high, he began playing in the grade 9 jazz band while in grade 7. After high school, he began playing with punk & rock bands out of Selkirk Manitoba. After taking an 8-year hiatus from music, Kristjan re-entered the scene as a bass player with both legs broken. He quickly found that drumming was something he missed and began joining local bands. After a stint with when planets align, Kristjan took another break from music. While scrolling Facebook he noticed a post from Keith Proulx asking where the metal drummers were. Despite not being a metal drummer, he answered right away and joined Witchmayne, playing metal drums for the first time. In the last 2 years there have been many ups & downs, but the music has always guided way!
