The name of each award is “of The Year” which means its of that year. In order to help prevent inactive nominations we have setup some qualifications
NOMINATION ELIGIBILITY
GENERAL RULES
75% of bandmates must be born in or living in Manitoba. Industry professionals must be born in or living in Manitoba. Nominees must be in good standing with the Manitoba Loud Music Awards Team. Anyone that promotes hate speech either on social media or in their music will be disqualified.
Metal Band of the Year
Music must match the genre or subgenres. Setlists performed must be primarily original music. Must have performed live or had a music release between January 1st – December 31st, of the previous year.
Rock Band of the Year
Music must match the genre or subgenres. Setlists performed must be primarily original music. Must have performed live or had a music release between January 1st – December 31st, of the previous year.
Punk/Hardcore Band of the Year
Music must match the genre or subgenres. Setlists performed must be primarily original music. Must have performed live or had a music release between January 1st – December 31st, of the previous year.
Female Fronted Band of the Year
Lead musician must identify as female and use she/her pronouns. Setlists performed must be primarily original music. Must have performed live or had a music release between January 1st – December 31st, of the previous year.
Cover/Tribute Band of the Year
Setlists performed must be primarily covers, not originals. Must have performed live or had a music release between January 1st – December 31st, of the previous year.
Upcoming Band of the Year
Band has been active in the scene for less than one year. Music must match the genres or subgenres of metal, rock, punk or hardcore. Must have performed live or had a music release between January 1st – December 31st, of the previous year.
Bassist of the Year
Bandmate must play in a band whose music matches the genres of metal, rock, punk or hardcore. Must have performed live or had a music release between January 1st – December 31st, of the previous year.
Drummer of the Year
Bandmate must play in a band whose music matches the genres of metal, rock, punk or hardcore. Must have performed live or had a music release between January 1st – December 31st, of the previous year.
Guitarist of the Year
Bandmate must play in a band whose music matches the genres of metal, rock, punk or hardcore. Must have performed live or had a music release between January 1st – December 31st, of the previous year.
Vocalist of the Year
Bandmate must play in a band whose music matches the genres of metal, rock, punk or hardcore. Must have performed live or had a music release between January 1st – December 31st, of the previous year.
Performer of the Year
This awards is for a musician who is entertaining to watch. Musician must play in a band whose music matches the genres of metal, rock, punk or hardcore. Must have performed live or had a music release between January 1st – December 31st, of the previous year.
Loud Single of the Year
Single was released between January 1st, and December 31st, of the previous year. Single matches the genres or subgenres of metal, rock, punk or hardcore music.
Loud Album of the Year
Album was released between January 1st and December 31st, of the previous year. Album matches the genres or subgenres of metal, rock, punk or hardcore music.
Ambassador of the Year
Individual is a positive role model for the community, either a voracious fan that supports the local scene, or a musician in a loud band that supports the local scene. Must be a single person, not a group of people.
Engineer of the Year
Industry professional that performs any combination of studio recording, mixing, and mastering whether through a home studio or a professional studio. Must have worked with 3 or more loud bands in the previous year.
Photographer of the Year
Individual that is known for taking kick ass photos of live performances by loud bands. Must have social media posts of 3 or more loud concerts that occurred in the previous year.
Studio of the Year
Professional or Home studio that works with loud bands in the scene. Must have worked with 3 or more loud bands in the previous year.
Videographer of the Year
Individual that is known for producing music videos or promotional videos with loud bands. Must have produced 3 or more videos with loud bands in the previous year.
Broadcaster of the Year
An individual that is known for interviewing loud bands on their platform (Radio, Podcast, TikTok, YouTube etc). Must have interviewed 3 or more loud bands in the previous year.
NOMINEE DISQUALIFICATIONS, DECLINATIONS, & NON-RESPONSE
Nominations that do not meet the above criteria set forth above, may be disqualified and therefore will not be added to the public voting system. Bands and individuals have a right to decline their nomination in which case they will not be added to the public voting system. If bands do not reply to the email regarding their nomination, a nonresponse will be considered a declination and they will not be added to the public voting system.
