Calvin Turko has been an active member of the Winnipeg metal scene for the last 10 years. He has been a part of many bands in that time. Every time he joined a band he would systematically try and turn it into an Iron Maiden tribute band, finally Maiden Manitoba was formed, and he has been going strong ever since.
Calvin’s love for music spans many genres, from British heavy metal to bluegrass, country and even classical music. Calvin got his start singing on an online karaoke site around 2006. It wasn’t long before people started telling him he should be playing live. He took that to heart and started his journey.Calvin is honoured to be nominated and looks forward to seeing what 2021 brings.
