With roots in metal Carl started playing guitar and screaming for bands at the age of 15.
By 20 he was firmly in the Winnipeg easy-core scene as the guitarist and screamer for Here I Stand. After they disbanded he joined Underachiever (later A Grizzly Fate) as the backing screamer and singer. Shortly he became the lead vocalist for Planeshifter. Carl brings a very aggressive false chord approach to his screams and makes sure to be as consistent as possible.
