JohNNy SiZZle started out playing the open mic nights in 1991 at the original Blue Note Cafe on Main Street. It was there they got noticed and so popular with their oddity heavy Alt Rock/Punk Rock but done all on Folk acoustic instruments that a year later they were playing the local live bars and all-ages clubs. At some point in early 1995 JohNNy SiZZle as a band felt sick and tired of Winnipeg and wandered off east. In a very non committal way they lived around in Quebec, Toronto area and even Sudbury, Ontario. After a number of years the band could still not look themselves in the mirror and return to Winnipeg so they went to Vancouver and performed frequently in live Punk music bars there. In 2005 JohNNy SiZZle as a band moved back to Winnipeg for personal family reasons. A little while after that the main songwriter of JohNNy SiZZle, Martin R. Howell, was diagnosed with Schizophrenia and didn’t do any music until they got back together in 2012. Ever since then the band has been releasing at least a new album every year or two. Constantly writing new songs. If you wish to listen to JohNNy SiZZle you can find the band’s music littered throughout the internet and on Transistor 66 Records. Lastly, screw you to those who think that power chords do not belong on an acoustic guitar. We, as a band, hope our very existence pisses you right off. You go have a heart attack. We’ll go have a good time. Party on!!!!
