I have always had a lifelong passion for the arts. I grew up watching my dad play guitar, and started playing in bands myself in high school, and have continued doing so until only recently. I’ve always enjoyed the art of photography, and took the plunge a number of years ago starting with film photography. Eventually I managed to acquire a digital camera and when the pandemic hit and meeting to jam with my band mates was no longer an option, I needed a hobby I could do on my own and I put all of my energy into photography. I’m heavily inspired by the beauty of black and white fine art photography as well as the high contrast photos from the early punk and hardcore music scene. I seek to blend the two and bring them to a modern format and audience. Doing music photography has allowed me to see shows from a different perspective, and become a more active participant in the Winnipeg music scene.
